To avoid coverage complications, please advise policyholders to wait until we’ve assessed the damage before making permanent repairs. However, we encourage customers to begin the screening process prior to hiring a contractor.
Please remind your customers to use a local, licensed and bonded contractor after checking their references.
In some areas, policyholders may use one of our PACE (Premier Auto Claims Experience) shops for damage estimates and repairs to their vehicles. If a vehicle can not be driven, we can arrange to have the vehicle towed to one of our PACE shops (where applicable), another location or schedule an inspection with one of our field adjusters.
All of the shops in our partnership programs go through a background check and must meet our high standards for quality repairs and customer service. Repairs made at these shops are covered by Safeco’s President’s Guarantee, which applies as long as the customer owns the vehicle.
To determine the best method of inspection, please have policyholders call our claims reporting lines for assistance. We always respect the customer’s right to use a repair facility of their choice. Please notify your customers of that fact before providing them with any information regarding our partnership programs.
